Get ready for your next gardening venture.

Don’t let your DIY projects come to a halt this winter. The cooler weather means it is easier to get out into the garden and create some magic. Here at PAPS Vertical Gardens we love DIY missions and have plenty of advice [and a great range of products] to ensure the success of your next project.

Want to start off simple?

You can style your home with upcycled containers. Try using old jars and toolkits for pots. Their lack of drainage holes means you can quickly grow a range of beautiful succulents and cacti, just remember not to overwater them. The next time you have an empty glass jay, whack some soil in it and put it on your window sill. The kitchen is a great place for growing herbs or shoots – alfa alfa anyone?

After something more challenging?

Why not take a leaf out of our books and try building a DIY hanging gutter garden. With the right guidance and placement, you can successfully grow a unique (and thriving) hanging garden. Get your hands on some old pipe for your hanging garden bed – head to the tip, there is always loads of plastic piping there – and get the kids involved in plant choices. Strawberries are a fab choice.

These stunning hanging gardens will brighten up and beautify any outdoor living area.

Keep the kids busy all winter long with DIY gardening projects. Get them to help create a fairy garden. Use rustic buckets, a range of seasonal flowers and old toys, anything they fancy to brighten up a dull corner in your backyard. Different coloured river stones make fun paths and an old ice cream container can work as a fairy pond.

Tip: Leave notes in your fairy garden for the kids to find the next day – they’ll be thrilled.

Vertical Gardens thrive inside and outside and are another great way to satisfy your DIY cravings from the warmth of your home.
